November 11. High School Old Girls Association The annual gathering of members of the association took place in the Trocadero Tea Rooms. Mrs. H. Fannin (President) welcomed the guests, and, after a dainty afternoon tea had been enjoyed, various competitions were held, the prizes being won by Miss E. Paisley and Miss 8. Rutherfurd. Amongst those present were: Mrs. 11. Fannin, Mrs. Horace Hhields, Mrs. Saxby, Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Swan, Mrs. Archie Brown, Mrs. Bradley. Mrs. Begum, the Misses Paisley, Morecroft, Hetley, McVay, McCarthy, Grey, McAlister, McCartney. Aitkin, Joll, Rutherfurd. Bowen, Moeller, Greig, Hill, Dalrymple, Hill. Ellison. Dent, Laing. Sandtman. Dinwiddie, Davis, and iyAt Home. Miss Greig and the teachers and pupils of the Girls’ High School held an “At Homo” in the school grounds last Wednesday afternoon. The lawns were gay with bunting, ami the schoolrooms were prettily deeorated with festoons of greenery. Sports were held during the afternoon, and an exhibition of physical culture was given by the entire school. Afternoon tea was served in the hall, and on the lawn, where a string band enlivened the proceedings. Handkerchief Tea. The Misses Hunter gave a handkerchief tea on Thursday afternoon in honour of Miss lolanthe Margoliouth, whose wedding takes place shortly in Sydney. The guests all arrived wearing a badge representing a flower. Mrs. Hansard gained first prize for an original represerttation of japonica, and Miss Nevill succeeded in guessing correctly the greatest number. Amongst those present were: Miss Hunter, in white muslin; Miss Bell Hunter, brown velvet; Miss May Hunter, red ninon; Miss Ava Hunter, pale blue silk; Mrs. Smith" (Stratford), green linen; Mrs. Margoliouth, blaek and white voile; Miss Margoliouth, white muslin; Miss T. The Bishop and Mrs. Averill are visiting Wairoa. Mr. and Mrs. John Moore and Mias Moore have returned by the Niwaru from a visit to England. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Crammond (Invercargill) were iu Napier ou their way to Tasmania.
