September 20. Children's Party. Mrs. Henderson gave a delightful children’s party last Saturday. Mrs. Henderson received her guests in a grey froek, with Oriental trimmings. Garden golf was played by the grown-ups, and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves with all sorts of games and toys. Amongst those present were: Mrs. Frank Barker, Mrs. R. Murphy, Mrs. J. Murphy, Mrs. Murray, Mrs. U. Burke, Mrs. T. Sherratt, Misses Murray, Bennett, AgnewBrown, Maefarlane (Napier), Some of the children were: Audrey Barker, Bettie Sherratt, Shiela Jex-Blake, Brian Burke, Guy Henderson, Puck Henderson, and many others. Afternoon Tea.
On Friday last, Mrs. U. R. Burke gave an afternoon tea in honour of her guest, Miss Elsie Maefarlane. The rooms were prettily decorated with purple and white violets and many other spring flowers. There was a very amusing competition, Mrs. J. Murphy being the winner. Mrs. U. R. Burke wore a white muslin Empire gown; Miss Maefarlane, saxe blue eoat and skirt, hat to match; Mrs. T. Sherratt, Mrs. W. Sherratt, Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. J. Murphy, Mrs. Henry White, Mrs. F. Barker, Mrs. J. Blair, Airs. Harry de Lautour, Mrs. Rex Willock, Miss F. Davies, Miss Bennett, MissFoster, Miss M. (Sherratt, Misses H. and B. Black, Miss Agnew-Brown, Miss White, Miss Bradley, Misses G. and U. Williams, Miss Edwards. Personal.
Mrs. Willoek (Gisborne) returned from South this morning. Mrs. R. G. Crawford, who has been staying with friends in Auckland, returns to-day.
