KAIKOURA.

August 8, Fancy Dress Ball. The juvenile dancing class wound up the season on July 29th with a plain and fancy dress ball in the Esplanade Hall, which was kindly lent by Mr G. H. B. Smith for the occasion. The hall was beautifully decorated with bunting suitably arranged, and the floor was in perfect order, while excellent music was supplied by Messrs Jesse Taylor and John Curtain. Extras were played by Alessrs IT. Nelson, T. Riordon, Miss Grace Gray, K. Allison, and M. Hopkins. Among those present in fancy dress were: Mesdames Allisoji, Cook; G.
