July 13. Kinking Party. Mr and Mrs E. Rutherford entertained a number of friends at a most enjoyable rinking party at the Grosvenor Hall, on Wednesday afternoon. Excellent music was supplied by Perry’s Orchestra. A dainty afternoon tea was laid out at one end of the hall, the table being artistically decorated with red berries, red camellias, and green foliage. Mrs. Rutherford received her guests in a handsome electro blue costume, large black hat, with ostrich feathers; Miss Rutherford, navy blue costume, hat with shaded roses; Miss G. Rutherford, pale green costume, tuscari hat with flowers; Miss F. Rutherford, blue dress, tuscan hat with roses. Murray was awarded the prize for the most original. Mrs TeshemakerShute received her guests wearing a pretty pale lavender silk voile dress, relieved with steel trimmings and black hat; Mrs J. Hi inking Evening. A most enjoyable evening was held in the Grosvenor Hall, on Thursday, in aid of the Marlborough Football Association. Great praise is due to the committee and secretary (Mr A. Mortimore) for the successful evening. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies; excellent music was supplied by Perry’s orchestra. Miss Vallance has been spending a few days with Mrs J. Alowat before returning to Masterton. Aliss R. Horton is the guest of Airs Richmond “Richmond Brook.” Mrs Bridge who was the guest of Airs W. Clouston ‘‘St Andrews” has returned to Wellington. Air. S. Neville has returned from Soul h.
