The following are the estimated populations of the four chief centres of the Dominion at the close of the month of February:—

Greater Auckland . 101,446 Greater Christchurch 80,523 Greater Wellington 78,243 Greater Dunedin .............. 64,402

The following are the vital statistics for February:—Auckland city: Births SO, deaths 48. Birkenhead: live births, three deaths. Devonport: 14 births. Newmarket: Two births', three deaths. Grey Lynn: 15 births, one death. Parnell: Seven births, one death. Mount Eden: 21 births, 11 deaths. Northcote: Two births. Total Auckland and suburban boroughs (estimated population, 81,690), 146 births, 67 deaths. Population of other suburbs (estimated), 19,756. Total population of Greater Auckland, 101,446. >;

Wellington city (estimated population, 72,991): 155 births, 46 deaths Greater Wellington (estimated population, 78,243) : 162 births, 50 deaths.

Christchurch city (population, 57,642) ? 86 births, 35 deaths. Christchurch and suburban boroughs (64,836) : 92 births, 41 deaths.

Dunedin city (44,809) : 115 births, 35 deaths. Greater Dunedin (64,402) : 143 births, 40 deaths. Thames (4000) : Seven births, six deaths. ,
