CIVIC IMPROVEMENT IN WANGANUI—HOW THE FUNDS ARE AUGMENTED.
A very successful floral fete and motor gymkhana was held In Wanganui last week in aid of the funds of the Beautification Society. About Go<m» people were present, and it is expected that the finances of'the Society will benefit to the extent of about £4OO. <l> First prize team for children's four-in-hand. Decorated team of children (Watkinson, photo). (3) The elephant and his keeper. (4) The maypole dance. (5) Some of the small competitors. (G) The menagerie race, In which a swan, two eats, 3 calves, a goat, a lamb, four roosters, one pig, and a tortoise took part.
