March 3. Bridge. A small bridge party was given on Saturday evening by the Misses MurrayAynsley (Fendalton). The guests included: Mrs F. 11. Wigram, Miss Reeves, Miss Cowlishaw, Mrs Boyle, Mrs Besttick, and Mrs George Gould.

A Successful Concert. A most successful concert was gives by Miss Rene Qucree (Auckland) on V> ednesday night, Ist March, at the Choral Hall. The talented pianiste charmed the audience with her brilliant and artistic style of playing. Mrs Queree playedi the accompaniments, and Mrs Krnest Firth and Mr Charlton sang. A concert was given at the Choral Hall on Thursday evening by M. Ossipoff, the Russian baritone. Mrs Stanley East sang, and Miss Renee Lees played the accompaniments. The hall was well filled, and M. Ossipoff was enthusiastically received. A Coining Dance. Invitations have been issued by a committee of seven (Misses Thomas, Symes, and Merton, Messrs Anderson, Godby, Nancarrow, andl Fell) for a small dance to be held next week at the Alexandra Hall in honour of the visiting teams for the Canterbury polo tournament. “The Creation.” In the Durham-street Church last night (March 2) “The Creation” was performed in connection with the Mehodist Conference, now being held in Christchurch. The soloists were: Mrs Gower Burns (soprano), Mr Schwarts (tenor), and Mr L. Bowron, Mr Whittingham (organist), and Mr Ernest. Firth (conductor) . Personal. Mrs J. R. Loughnan (Timaru) is the guest of Mrs George Harper at Lower Riccarton. Lady Mills and Miss Mills, who have been staying with Mrs Beswick, Carltonstreet, Merivale, have returned to Dunedin. Mrs Moorhouse (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs George Rhodes, “Meadowbank.” Mrs Ranald Macdonald has returned to Christchurch from South Canterbury, where she has been staying with friend's. Mrs Bagnall (Ireland) has been the guest of Mrs Allan (Lower Riccarton). Miss A. Lyon (Woodbury) is the guest of Mrs Gerald Westenra, Oxford-terrace, Christchurch. Mrs C. Wynn-Williams, who has been staying with friends in Christchurch, has returned to Waikari. Miss E. Mountfort (Christchurch) is yisiting friends at Feilding. Visitors to Christchurch include: Mrs Clarke (Hastings), Mrs Eyre (Invercargill), Mr and Mrs Chynoweth (London). Amongst the Canterbury people who attended the Dunedin jockey Club’s meeting were: Mr and Mrs C. Dalgety (Christchurch), Mr, Mrs and Miss Knight (Racecourse Hill), Mr and Mrs Savill (Horarata), Mr and Mrs Henry Wood (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs C.
