Vast Granary.

The difference between Canada and the United States in the matter of grain production, according to the “New York Commercial," is this. “While the available areas are about all occupied and production has practically reaihed the maximum in the States, Canada, with 50 per cent greater productive capacity will ibe a long way off from her maximum yield in twenty years to come. And it is largely a question of land conditions. Canada's wheat-growing belt is four times greater than that of the United States and only five per cent of Canada's western agricultural area is under cultivation. There are 171,000,000 acres of wheat lands which will make these western provinces richer, more populous, more dependable for food sup plies than the Western States can ever become. The centre of food supremacy will change to Canada.”
