SEDDON.

January 2. Glorious weather prevailed for the holidays, and everything passed off very successfully. The trains were packed with people, some going to Pieton and others camping out in the Sounds. A number of picnic parties and a large crowd journeyed to Blenheim to see the lawn tennis championship tournament. Distribution of Prizes. The annual distribution of prizes to the pupils of the Flaxbourne School took place on Wednesday, 28th. Air. Jenkins (the chairman) presented the prizes to the children. Parents and children wore entertained at afternoon tea, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. Cricket. A cricket match was played at Flaxbourne on December 2(i between teams selected from the single and married members. A ven' close game resulted iu a win for the bachelors by three runs. A big crowd witnessed the game. The ladiea provided afternoon tea.

Personal. Air. and Airs. G. H. Monro, "Auclienbowie,” Flaxbourne, are at present the guests of Mrs. C. Goulter, “Hawkesbury,” Blenheim. Air. and Airs. Van Ash, “Ure,” have returned home after a most enjoyable holiday in Blenheim. Mr. and Airs. Alenlove, “Ngaionui,” went to Blenheim for the tennis tourna-. ment. Airs. Thomas, “Tirohanga,” and Miss Rutherword (Kekerangu) went to Blenheim for the tennis dance. Air. and Airs. lan Johnston, “Waverley,” who have been spending the Christmas week with Airs. Vavasour, “Ugbrooke,” have returned to Wellington. Mr. G. Vavasour and Air. Anderson

(Christchurch) are spending their holidays at “V’gbrooke.” Mr. P. Goulter and Mr. J. Colley, “Blairieh.” are staying at “Hawkeibury,” Blenheim. Miss Hall, “The Pines,” and Mr. Erie Sclanders, who have been on a visit to Mrs. Seymour (Richmond), have returned to Blenheim. Mrs. Gunn, “Marathon,” who has been on a short visit to Christchurch, has returned home. Mr. Gunn (Auckland), who has been on a visit to his parents, has returned to Auckland. Mrs. F. Willis, “Grasmere,” is at present visiting her parents, “Kincaid,” Kaikoura. Mr. and Mrs. H. 11. Sharp. “Blind River.” have gone to Invercargill for a

holiday.
