Mr. Thomas Mitchell, the Auckland agent of Messrs. Bowron Bros., of Christchurch, dropped dead in a tram on the way from Opawa to Christchurch on December Ist. He was 53 years of age at 'the time of his death, and was born in County Armagh. Ireland, coming out to New Zealand some 30 years ago.

He holds the rank of Major in the Territorial Forces, and wears the Victoria Decoration.
