Hawera, November 4. This has been a particularly dull werik, and we are all looking forward to the opening of the tennis arid croquet lawns on November 9, weather permitting. A Concert. Aliss Reilly- and her pupils gave their annual concert in the Opera House last Friday evening. It was a pronounced success, just as the prior ones have always been, the choruses and partsongs being particularly- good. Solos Were sung by Aliss A. Hilles, Aliss A. and M. Gallagher, Airs. V. Nolan, and Air. Grace. Piano solos: Aliss B. Horner, Aliss C. Good—a little girl only nine years of age, who played “The Black Keys” (A. Bauer) without music, and was deservedly- encored. Piano duets: Alisses A. and P. Young, Aliss Al. and E. Kimbell, Alisses A. Dolan and Al. O’Sullivan; and several choruses, double quartets, and part songs. Personal. Airs. O’Callaghan has gone to Wellington for a fevy weeks’ holiday, Aliss Sale, who has been the guest of her sister (Airs. Dr. Campbell), has returned to Auckland. .1 Aliss B.
