THE FIRST TERRITORIAL CAMP IN NEW ZEALAND UNDER THE NEW SYSTEM.
The men of the First Auckland Infantry Battalion have had a week’s solid work at Pa pa toetoe. The battalion was the first section of the New Zealand Forces to undertake training under the conditions of rhe new system, ami consequently no small degree of interest attached to their work, ill Lieutenant-Colonel Reed on horseback and Captain I’lugge dismounted. (2) Meal time. (3) Captain Kay in the centre and Captain Plugge on the right, on the last day of the <*amp both these officers were put through an examination in brigade drill for their majorities. (4i Some of the officers and men of the battalion. (5) Returning from the cook-house. (6) Firing with ball cartridge at distances which have to be estimated.
