“ Colenel Bogey ” Dumbfounded.

A very extraordinary incident occurred recently on a golf course near Bristol. In a private match, and at a short hole, one of the players put his tee shot within a yard of . the pen. The second played, and his ball hit the opponent's ball into the hole, who,- therefore, secured the hole in one stroke. The other players holed out from where his ba 11 landed, so that the number of strokes by both players did not exceed the bogey for this hole, which was three. Sueh remarkable cireumstairees arc seldom heard of. Lord Bingham holed out in one stroke from the fifteenth tee on Chertsey links. The hole measured 130 yards and a ditch guards the green. He was playing a round with Miss Graut SulUe.
