RAH ERA TE KA HI HI APO. On October 12th, at Tauranga. Rahera to Kahuhinpo, a cliieftafness of the Arawa and Ngaiterangi tribes; aged 97 years. The deceased was from tin* Ariki line of the Ilnpus; Ngati-Piklao, Waitaha, NgaiPukenga, Ngatl-Tc Takings. and Nga Potiki, •She was a direct descendant of Tama-tc-Kapun, the Chief of the Arawa canoe, and also of Hei, Rangitihl, Totoa. Waitaha, Pi kiao, Tuparahaki, Pukeuga, Tutanekal, and of other Chiefs of the Canoes Arawa, Mntatnn, and Talnui, which crossed the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand. She leaves two daughters, Ka to Atirau (Mrs. David Ashen and Mure Taka (Mrs. Kupa Ilaimona), of Taurangi). twelve grand children, and seventeen great-grandchlldre » He hen nta ka kites He heu moana e kore e kites.
