Death of Canon Pollock.

LONDON, September I®. ,\ With regret I have to record that youg recent visitor, Canon Herbert Charles Pollock, died on Saturday at hia country house, Cobham, Kent. He was fiftyeight years .of age. * The eldest son of the late Baron Pollock, Canon Pollock was himself called to the' Bar in 1877, but six years later he retired from the law, and took Holy Orders. He was successively curate o£ St. Mary's, llkley, and St. Michael's, Nottingham; viear of St. Leonard’s, Newark, and rector of West Haekney, Middlesex. For the last eighteen years he had been a canon residentiary of Rochester, Cathedral. His services were in great request as a mission preacher, not only, in the diocese of Rochester, but throughout the kingdom.
