August 5. VMe Hunt. vChere was a very large gathering when Egmont-Wanganui hounds met at Mr. Frank Moore’s Bushy Park, Kai Iwi. Amongst those following were Miss Ida Nixon, Miss D. Cutfield, Mrs. C. Jordan, Messrs. Patterson, W. Moore, B. Gordon, G. Jones, S. Morton, J. Moore, J. McNeill, A. Gordon, C. Cameron, C. Barton, A. Higgie, Quigley, Morgan, G. Potts, A. McLeod. Amongst the spectators were Mrs. Cutfield, Miss Connolly, Miss Cutfield, Mrs. G. Marshall, Mr. Russell, Mr. Foster, Mrs. G. McGregor, Mr. N. Moore, Mr. Cecil Wray, Miss' K.’ Higgie, Mr. Lewis, Mr. and Miss Mcßeth and many others. An Enjoyable Dance. A very enjoyable little dance was given by a committee of bachelors in the Fire Brigade Hall on Friday evening. The floor was perfect, and a delicious supper was laid in the adjoining room upstairs; the tables were ’ prettily arranged with pale pink eamelias and autumn foliage, with dainty pink shades to the candelabra. Mrs. John Stevenson wore a cream chiffon gown with handpainted floral design, draped skirt of rose pink chiffon, and the same on her corsage; Mrs. G. Saunders, pule blue eharmeuse Direetoire frock, with white lace on her corsage embroidered in silver thread; Mrs. A. Izard, pale pink crepe de chine, the decollete had a wide band of silver sequin net on it, and a touch on the sleeves; Mrs. Imlay Saunders, becoming frock of the palest blue silk, with overskirt of black flounced lace bordered with jet trimming; Mrs. Fairbum, pale pink silk with pearl and steel embroidery on her decollete, and tiny pink roses in her coiffure; Mrs. G. Marshall wore a black ninon gown with draped skirt, tucker of black net and tiny sleeves of the same with a touch of blaek jet on her corsage, in her coiffure she wore a band of gold tissue; Mrs. H. Serjeant, old rose chiffon taffetas, with band of velvet of a darker shade in her decollete, and Honiton lace; Mrs. Bond (Wellington), pale pink silk frock with applique flounces on the skirt and corsage, Mrs. Brettargh, black silk with lace on her corsage; Mrs. D’Arcy, black chiffon taffetas gown, with pale blue eharmeuse inserted on the corsage and edged with black jet floral design; Mrs. Medhurst wore a beautiful gown of pals blue eharmeuse made in Empire style, with wide band of floral silk, and gold thread embroidery, the corsage was finished with tiny gold tassels; Miss Symes (Auckland) pale heliotrope eharmeulse gown with chiffon; Miss Kerr, white silk frock with silver sequins on her corsage; Miss H. Anderson, white ninon gown with draped corsage; Miss G. Anderson, white silk, with spray of flowers on her decollete: Miss Brettargh, rose pink ninon, made in Empire style, with wide band of silk embroidery edging the square-cut corsage; Miss D. Brettargh. pale blue silk, with silver sequins: Miss Stevenson wore a very smart ami becoming frock of the palest heliotrope charmeuse, made quite short, the skirt was caught below the knees with a wide band of silver sequin embroidery, and the same in her decollete, and spray of tiny heliotrope roses in her coiffure: Miss Carew (Dunedin), pale pink crystalline robe with wide band of applique flounces in the corsage and skirt; Miss Gleeson, sky blue silk with the same material gauged on the skirt, and chiffon on her corsage, and in her coiffure she wore a coronet of blue roses; Miss Thompson, (Christchurch), striped ninon gown with wide band of silk at the foot of the skirt, and the same on her decollete, wreath of blue forget-me-nots in her coiffure; Miss IVilford, pretty pale blue crepe do chine, with narrow blue silk cord, and

Marshall, cream lace robe over silk, the draped skirt was eaught with a satin rosette, and the same on her corsage; Miss Haw’ken, white silk with overskirt of silver sequin net; Miss Mcßeth, black and white striped ninon gown, with laee; Miss C. Anderson, pale green silk robe, with deep crimson roses on the front of her corsage; Mrs. E. Cowper wore a becoming blaek chiffon taffetas robe, with cream chiffon embroidered in gold thread design; Miss E. Anderson wore a rosepink silk with overskirt of pink chiffon, and a spray of flowers on her decollete; Miss D. Christie, cream eharmeuse gown, with cream chiffon on her corsage; Miss

There were a very large number at the Belmont golf links on Wednesday afternoon. Tea was given by Mrs. H. Good and Mrs. A. Izard. Jordan, of Wanganui, have been pending a few day in Pahiatua. Miss Thompson, of Christchurch, who has been visiting friends in Wanganui for some weeks, left on Monday for her home in Christchurch. Mrs. Symes, of Auckland, is staying in Wanganui with Mrs. Medhurst. Miss Dalrymple of Rangitikei, who has been staying in Wanganui with Mrs. A. Izard, has returned to her home. Mrs. Sanderson, of Wanganui, has returned from her visit to the South Sea Islands. The Misses C. and G. Anderson have returned from their holiday in Norfolk
