N.Z. Championship Meeting.

AN INTERESTING PROGRAMME. We are in receipt of the programme for the New Zealand Championship Meeting, which takes place under the management of the Christchurch Golf Club o-n the Shirley links from September sth to September 10th. Entries will be received through club secretaries, who muist furnish each competitor’s club handicap. Entries for all events must be made, and fees paid to the hon. secretary (Mr. T. D. Condell, Box 437, Christchurch) on or before Tuesday, 30th August. The following programme has been arranged: — Amateur Championship of New Zealand.—Two qualifying rounds (stroke play), the thirty-two players returning the best scores to play off by match play over 18 holes, final over 36 holes. Winner and runner-up will both receive trophies in addition to the gold and. silver medals presented by the New Zealand Golf Council. Winner will also be registered as the winner of the challenge cup. The cup will be handed to the club of which the winner is a member, and will be held by that club until the next championship meeting. Every competitor must be a member of a golf club on the register of the New Zealand Golf Council, and must have resided for three months in New Zealand either before or after- having been elected as isueh member. Entry, 10/-. Open Championship of New Zealand. —- Four rounds of stroke play. Open to any professional or amateur. Prizes, £2O, £lO, and £5, for the first, second, and third players. If an amateur win any of the prizes, he will receive a trophy. Entry: Amateurs, 10/-, professionals, nil. Professionals’ match. —Over 18 holes. Match, play. Open to any professional in New Zealand or elsewhere. First prize, £10; second prize, £2. This match will not be played unless there are six entries. Entrance, nil. Bogey Handicap.—Over 18 holes. Winner and runner-up will both receive trophies. Open to any amateur. Entry, 5/-. Foursome Bogey Match.—Over 18 holesi Handicap. Trophies to the winners. Open to any amateur. Entries in pairs, 5/- per pair. Inter-club Challenge Vase (presented by Mr. E. I). O’Rorke), to be held by the winning club till next championship meeting. Teams of four players will represent each club. The aggregate gross score of each team in second qualifying round of event No. 1 will decide this event. Medal Handicap.—Over 18 holes. Winner and runner-up will both receive trophies. Open to any amateur. Entry, 5/-. The time-table for the various events is as follows: — Monday, sth September—-9.30 a.m.. Open Championship, •first round; 1.30 p.m., Open Championship, second round. Tuesday, 6th September—9.3o a.m.. Open Championship, third round; and, concurrently, first qualifying round Amateur Championship; 1.30 p.m., Open Championship, fourth round; and, concurrently, second qualifying round Amateur Championship and Inter-Club Challenge Vase.

Wednesday, 7th September—9 a.in., Professional's’ Match, first round; 9.30 ■ a.m., Amateur Championship, first round; 1.30 p.m., Bogey Handicap. Thursday, Bth September—9 a.m., Professionals’ Match, second round; 9.30 a.m., Amateur Championship, second round; 1.30 pan., Foursome Bogey Handicap. Friday, 9th September —9 a.m.. Professional Match, third round; 9.30 a.m., amateur championship, third round: 1.30 p.m., Amateur Championship, fourth round; 2 p.m.. Medal Handicap.
