Well-paid Doctors.

Paris doctors, who are signalising the New Year by an increase of 30 per cent, on their minimum fees, are not badly off, according to*M. Georges d’Avenel. In his recently published work, “Les Riches depuis Sept Cents Ans,’’ he states that there are 30 doctors in Paris earning from £4OOO to £BOOO a year, 150 earning £l6OO, and 400 whose income varies from £6OO to £BOO, while the remaining 2500 make anything from £320 to £6OO a year. Many a hard-working London, doctor would be glad to reach what d'Avenel states to be the minimum income of the Paris practitioner. <4 A doctor whose practice lies among the working classes,” adds M. D’Avenel, “often, pays about 30 visits in one day, and thus earns about £l2OO a year, or considerably more than the majority of those whose clients are drawn from the middle classes.
