It is now generally conceded that the winter season in Switzerland rivals that of the summer in enjoyableness, and it is emphatically the most fashionable winter resort in Europe at the present time. The hotels are filled with joyous, happy crowds, and the days are spent skating on skis (pronounced she), on lugers, sledges, or toboggans. Lugers are small toboggans, usually for two persons. Our pictures show: (1) Lugers in trouble. (2) Chateau D’Oek in winter. (3) ice-making from spring water. (4) Modelling in snow. (5) The fascinating ski. (6) Luger and ski parties in an Alpine village.
