PICNICKING ON THE WANGANUI RIVER.
The first annual picnic held by the Wanganui grocers took place at Raorikla on February 24. Two steamers, the Manuwai and Waitnarle, had to be put into commission to convey the 800 excursionists to the picnic, which proved to be one of the most successful ever held in Wanganui.
