CRICKET.
Tluunes. The cricket matches commenced last week were concluded on Saturday, and resulted ia the Hauraki A team defeating Tararu B by an innings and 30 runs, and Tararu A team defeating Hauraki B by an innings and 23 runs. Wellington. In the senior cricket matches on Saturday, East A. batting against Central, scored 258 for five wickets (Midlane 109 not out, Mahony 58, Berner 31). North were disposed of by South for 99 (Williams 38). Patrick took eight wickets for 44 runs. South lost seven wickets for 86 (Burton 31). East B, playing against Petone, put up 243 for nine wickets (Dickson 100 not out, Nash 24, McGill 28). Otago. The following cricket team has been selected to represent Otago against the Australians: — Callaway, Condliffe, Cummings, Eckhold, Hiddlestone, Macartney, McFarlane, Rutherford, Ramsden, Siedeberg, and Wilson.
