NEW ZEALANDERS ABROAD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) IX>NJX>X, November 26. Mrs. E. L. Stephens, of Riverton, Southland, who is on a visit to England. spent four months in South Africa en route on a visit to her daughter. Mrs. Mosely. She has since visited friends in Skye, Glasgow, Manchester, and Leicester, and expects to spend Christmas with relatives at Ealing. Mrs. Stephens will probably remain in the Old Country till March, returning via Australia, and remaining there for the winter. It will probably be quite a year before she reaches New Zealand. Miss Mabel Alanson, a New Zealand soprano, sang at Dundee this week at a municipal concert. Her delightful rendering of “Sunshine and Butterflies” was loudly cheered, and she had to respond to an encore. Alias Eva Marie Randle, second daughter of the late Howard Randle and Mrs. Randle, formerly of New Zealand, died at Novern-square, London, S.W., on November 15th. Air. and Mrs. H. F. Srbbatt, of Seddon, Afarlborough, who arrived here by the Shaw, Savill steamer Orawa on November 15th, intend making a prolonged stay in this country. While here Mr. Sibbatt will endeavour to obtain an appointment with a Ixmdon firm. Mr. Herbert Bailey, formerly of Wellington, who came to London some seven or eight years ago, is now holding an exhibition of modem artists’ work in Brunton-street, off Bond-street. Among the passengers leaving London to-day for New Zealand by the Orient liner Orvieto, was Miss Kathleen Irene Wix, daughter of Captain McKellor Wix. She is going to New- Zealand on an extended holiday, and is likely to be absent from London for twelve months. Nurse S. E. Maude, of Christchurch, is at. present in London for rest, and change. Rest Nurse Maude evident! v is determined to have, for she politely, but firmly, declines to be interviewed even by a sympathetic London correspondent.
