Naval cadets at the base of the monument in Trafalgar Square paying their respects to the memory of Lord Nelson on the anniversary of his death, by signalling the great admiral's famous message to his fleet on the morning of his last sea light.
Mr. John Gittos was last week the recipient of a presentation from the Ponsonby Liteiary and Debating Society, of which he has been president for four years. Mr. T. W. Leys, in making the presentation, eulogised Mr. Gittos as a man, as a mein her of the society, and as its president. The gift took the form of a framed photogiaph of the officebearers of the society.
