His Excellency the Governor gave a dinner at Wellintgon last week in honour of the King’s Birthday. The invited guests included the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph G. Ward), the Minister for Internal Affairs (Hon. D. Buddo), Mr Justice Cooper, the Mayor of Wellington (Dr. Newman) and various foreign consuls. Mr. W. Corry, of Wanganui, was a passenger by the Main Trunk train on Wednesday, and is putting up at the Star Hotel during his visit. Mr. Murdoch MeLean, of Auckland, who has been on a visit home since Friday week, returned South by Thursday night’s train. Messrs. J. D. Hall (chairman) and A. L.
