ROWING.

Auckland Bowing Club. The Auckland Rowing Club held their first trial fours on. Saturday, for trophies presented by W. Coleman, Ksq., president. The water was rather rough, bat some good racing ensued. The first heat was contested by crews stroked by Bloomfield, Murray and Barber, and resulted In a fairly easy victory for the first-named. The second heat resulted, after an interesting race, in a win for the crew stroked by Hornlbrooke. In the third heat, crews stroked by Darby, King, and Wilson faced the starter. The race resulted in a hard go from start t» finish, a spurt by King in the last few yards putting him ahead of Darby by a tew Inches. Final.—Crews stroked by Bloomfield, King, and Hornibrook lined up for the final, all getting away fairly well together, but, after a few strokes. King’s No. 3 man had the misfortune to jump his seat off the slide, and Bloomfield got home an easy winner, with Hornibrook a length or so •behind. The winning crew consisted of Bloomfield (stroke), Farrow (3), T. Held (2), Moses (bow). —
