GOLF.
Paeroa, A one-club competition was played on the local club’s links od Saturday, the ladies piaying nine hoies, and gentlemen 18. Ihe ladies' prize was won by Bliss Connie Edwards, and the gentlemen’s by Mr MeDonnel. During the afternoon a presentation was made to Mr and Mrs E. W. Forritt, who are leaving the district. Mrs Forritt was presented with a very hand* some silver backed hand mirror, and Mr Forritt, who is president of the club, was the recipient of a silver cigarette case. Mr Forritt, in returning thanks, said both he and Mrs Forritt regretted leaving the club and the many friends they had in the mem bers. Mr Forritt then presented this year’s championship prizes to the respective winners. Mrs Henry Bush won the ladies’ championship; and Mr McDonald the gentlemen’s. Mr Allen was also presented with a prize, won in a handicap competition of 18 holes.
