LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE OF AUCKLAND’S NEW TECHNICAL COLLEGE. It w.is not until P.ibb. after the death of the late Premier, that the project fora new technical college for Auckland assumed definite shape, the trustees of the Auckland Savings Bank donating £lO.OOO towards the erection of the buildings. Tenders are to be • ailed for the first three storeys of the building, the sum of £20.000 being available for the work. Even the new college will not be sufficient for requirements, but the Board has had to cut its coat according to its cloth.
