July 29. A Dance. Last Friday evening Miss Horton held a long evening in connection with her dancing class in St. Patrick’s Hall. Some of those present were: Mrs Walker, black chiffon taffeta, relieved with pale blue; Mrs Huline, white muslin; Misses Horton (2), white silk; Miss Leslie, pale blue chiffon taffeta blouse, black skirt; Miss Ewart, white muslin; Miss L. Redwood, white muslin; Miss K. Scott-Smith, white muslin, floral sash; Miss V. Brittain, white muslin; Miss C. Clouston, pale blue blouse, black accordion-pleated skirt; Miss Western, white embroidered muslin; Miss D. Horton, pink grenadine; Miss Marsh, white silk; Miss C. Marsh, white muslin; Miss L. Clouston, black velvet; Miss McNab, champagne silk frock; Miss N. Grace, white silk; Miss Maclaine, white muslin. Messrs B. Moore, Brittain, H. Grace, Scott-Smith, Hall, G. Fisher, Jones (Te Arolia), Parker (2), Greenfield, Clouston, Hill, Horton (2), White, Sidey (England), Paul. Golf. Quite a number of players journeyed down to the Riverland Golf Links last Saturday, it being such a perfect afternoon. A dainty tea was provided by the lady members. Some of those present were: Mesdames Bulme, Mills, Maclaine, B. Clouston, Misses C. Clouston, Maeallister (Picton), Marsh, MeLauchlin, Chapman, Ross, Nevien, Foster (Seddon), Messrs Moore, McShane, W'icks (Picton), Broughton, B. Clouston, Riddell (Picton), and Hart. Afternoon Tea. Miss Anderson entertained a few friends at an afternoon tea on Tuesday at her home in Maxwell-road, in honour of her guest, Miss G. Rutherford. Some of those present were: Misses Clouston, M. McNab, E. Bell (Hillersden), C. Clouston, McGee, F. Chaytor, and E. Mowat. Personal. Miss I). Loveridge (Sydney) is the guest of Mr and Mrs H. E. Burden. Miss J. Horton has returned from a holiday to Masterton. Miss B. Masefield (The Sounds) is the guest of Mrs W. Clouston, ‘'St. Andrews,**
Mr J. Coleman (North Island) is visiting Mr and Mrs 8.. Coleman, “Vernon.” Mr L. Jones (Te Aroha), who has been visiting friends in Marlborough, has returned. Miss Grace has returned from a most enjoyable visit to Christchurch. Misses Vavasour (2) have returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr A. Bell “Riverlands,” has returned from Australia, after a pleasant holiday. Mr T. Mowat (Hunterville) is on a short visit to Blenheim. Mrs Bennett has returned from her visit to the Empire City. JEAN.
