June 11. A Successful Concert. On Thursday evening a very successful concert was given in All Saints’ Schoolroom in aid of the new piano fund. The performers were: Mrs. Booth, Misses Richards, Flett, K. Kempthorne, Messrs. De Looze, Hintz, Richards, McKee Wright, and Louisson. There was a large

•ufllence, and at the close of the concert Canon Lucas thanked all those who had rendered assistance. Euchre Party. LA very enjoyable euchre party was given by Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Clarke at "Rajpootana.” There were 70 guests present, and the first prizes were won by Misses F. Richmond and M. Cock and Mr. Rowley. Miss Roberts and Mr. Richmond Fell won the “booby” trophies. After play ceased, a dainty supper was served, the tables being decorated with eprays of pale yellow chrysanthemums and yellow leaves. Mrs. Clark wore a smart dress of black glaee, with handsome white laee scarf; Miss Clark, vieux rose taffeta; Miss G. Clark, pale blue eilk; Miss F. Clark, white ninon over pale pink; Mrs. Macquarie, black, with deep red roses on corsage; Mrs. Lyell, handsome dress of violet brocade; Mrs. Burnes, white taffeta, with real lace; Mrs. de Castro, pink silk; Mrs. Dudley Edwards, smart black net over black glace; Mrs. Airey, pale blue, with silver; Mrs. Hair, black velvet; Mrs. Hoby, green net over green silk; Mrs. C. Green, white chiffon; Mrs. Price, black; Mrs. R. Fell, creme brocade, with Honiton lace; Miss Gilkison, red silk; Miss Gibbs, black merveilleux; Miss Glasgow, pale green; Miss Lorimer, black satin; Miss Richmond, white Empire costume; Miss Cock, black net; Miss S. Fell, pale blue; Miss Langley-Adams, pale mauve silk; Miss Roberts, pale pink taffeta; Misses Ledger (2), Leggatt, Houlker, Tomlinson, Sclanders, Maginity, Hair, Blackett, Hodson, Booth, Knight (Sydney), Bell, Clendenen (Melbourne).

Card Party. The Misses Gilkison gave a large card party at tile' “Haeremai.” Bridge was played in one room, and progressive euchre in another, while supper was served on the large balcony. The bridge prize, a handsome pale blue cushion, was won by Mrs. Barclay-Harrison, and Miss Sylvia Fell won the first prize in the euchre tournament. Among those present were: Mesdames Booth, Bunny, Coote, Harris, Harrison, Dodson, Allen, Lyell, Burnes, Squires, Misses Tomlinson, Leggatt, Glasgow, Ledger, Booth, Gibbs, Knight, Roberts, Richmond, Clark, Fell, Richmond. On Saturday Mr. Gordon Richmond won the Men’s Bogey Match, Mr. McLaren, of Wakapuaka being second. The ladies’ Monthly Medal Match was won by Miss L. Ledger, in the Seniors, and Miss Bamford, in the Junior division. Miss Ledger’s trophy for the One Club Match was won by Miss F. Richmond. Personal Mrs. Ponsonby has returned to Wellington. Mr. Harold Glasgow (New Plymouth) is visiting Mrs. Glasgow (Brooklands). Mr. and Mrs. W. Gillies (Blenheim) have arrived in Nelson. Last week the officers of the Lands and Survey Department at Nelson made a presentation to Mr. F. W. Flanagan (Commissioner of Crown Lands at Nelson ), who has been promoted to a similar position at Christchurch. Colonel and Mrs. Webb have arrived from Wellington. They intend to reside here.
