■y 0 CCKEY promises to be the most popular game of the season in I I Auckland this year. The openy ing games and sports at Remuera on Saturday were most successful, and they attracted a large number of onlookers. There was a seven-aside tournament for senior, second, and third grade players among the men. Auckland beat University in the final of the seniors, Ellerslie beat Ponsonby in the second grade, and in the final of the third grade Unitarian defeated St. Mary's. Rangatira A beat Riwhiti A in the final of the ladies’ matches. The athletic events resulted: 100yds men’s championship. N. R. Jacobsen 1, G. Timms 2; time 11 4-ss. 75yds ladies’ championship: Miss Probert I, Mis: Brophy 2. Egg and spoon race: Miss Bennett 1, Miss Gondie 2. Relay race: North Shore (Gladding, Fhrquharson. Little, and Mcßeynolds) 1, United 2, St. George's 3.
