April 9. Last week Mrs E. P. Lethbridge gave a very enjoyable garden party at her picturesque residence, Ann Bank, Turakina. The day was perfect and the many- visitors spent a delightful afternoon playing croquet, wandering through the garden and admiring the masses of begonias in the greenhouse. Amongst those present were Mr and Mrs Lethbridge, Rev. R. Ross, Mrs and Miss Ross, Mrs and Miss Wilford (Wanganui), Miss Marshall, Miss Anderson, Mr and Mrs H. Lethbridge, Mr and Mrs Price, Miss Gresson (Wanganui), Mr and Mrs Lethbridge (Feilding), Miss Lethbridge (Feilding), Mr Wilson, Mr Moffatt, Mrs Sorley, Miss Dalrymple, Mr Willis and others. On Wednesday afternoon Miss Imlay, Mt. Desert, gave a delightful children’s party for her little niece, Miss Marjorie Saunders. Amongst those present were Mrs Clay and the little Misses and Master Clay, Mrs G. Saunders and her little daughter, Mrs Mcßeth, Miss and Master Mcßeth, Mrs Mac Kay and little Miss Beth Mac Kay, and others. In spite of the showery afternoon there were quite a number at the croquet courts on Saturday. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs and Miss Moore. During the afternoon several prizes for the various tournaments were presented, Mrs Colin Campbell won tho singles, also the status, and Mr’ Izard and Mrs R. Jackson the president’s (Mr Stevenson) prize. Amongst those present were Mrs and Miss Moore, Mr and Mrs Stevenson,- Mr and Mrs Gordon, Mrs Paterson, Mrs R. Jackson, Mrs Greenwood, Mrs Colin Campbell, Mr Goodwin, Miss Brown, Mr and Mrs Sargeant, and others. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Abraham of Palmerston North are staying in Wanganui for Easter. Mr H. Dogdshun of Dunedin is at present in Wanganui. Miss Hewitt of Palmerston North is spending Easter in Wanganui. Mrs Elder of Wellington is at present staying in Wanganui. Miss Lambert of Australia is the guest of Mrs John 'Mason in Wanganui. Miss D. Humphreys of Palmerston North is the guest of Mrs Ashcroft in Wanganui. Mrs Mason of Wanganui is staying with friends in Auckland. Miss Willis of Rangitikei is the guest of Mrs Wilford in Wanganui. Mrs and Miss Blundell of Nelson are the guests of Mrs Fairbairn in Wanganui. —

Miss J. Cleghorn of Wellington is staying in Wanganui with Mrs John .Anderson. Mrs and Miss Longhuau of Palmerston North arc the guests of Mrs Earle in Wanganui. Mrs and Miss Beetham of the Waira rapa are staying hi Wanganui with Mrs Christie. Miss Moore of the Wairarapa is staying in Wanganui with Mrs Fairburn. Miss Young of Dannevirke is the guest of Miss Brewer in Wanganui. Miss Carew, Dunedin, is staving in Wanganui with her aunt, Mrs John Stevenson. Miss N. Wilson, of Bulls, is the guest of Mrs Good in Wanganui. Mrs and Mrs Lethbridge of Turakina is staying in Wanganui with Mrs Izard. Mr and Mrs V. Riddiford, Hutt. Wellington, are staying in Wanganui for Easter. Mrs and Miss W'heeler of Rangitikei are staying at Wharenui, Wanganui. Mr and Mrs L. Peake of Cambridge are the guests of Mrs H. Peake in Wanganui. Mrs Dodgshun of Gisborne is staying in Wanganui for Easter. Airs J. Watt of Wanganui is spending Easter in Palmerston North with relations. Mr E.
