KAIKOHE.

March 12. Air and Mrs G. F. Dickeson gave most enjoyable dance in the Public Hall at Kaikohe, in honour of the approaching marriage of their daughter Lidie to Air Frank P. Goldie, of Auckland. The hall was tastefully decorated \yith nikau palms, bunting and Chinese lanterns, the stage being finished as a drawing room, from which point of vantage the non-dnneers surveyed the scene. The asphalt tennis court adjoining the hall was transformed with palms and shrubs into a picturesque garden.for sitting out. Dancing commenced shortly after 9 P*c^Q c k. about 150 being present. Delightful music was supplied by Professor Pringle, and dancing proceeded merrily until 1 o’clock, when sup-

per was announced. Th * gum store next to the hall, which was used as a supper room, looked very pretty with its walls and veiling concealed in a mass of nikau and bunting.
