Emigration Records.
Interesting figures, showing how Vie population of the British Isles is gradually changing, are given in the immigration and emigration report for the year 1907.
The following table shows the total number of persons who have entered the United Kingdom from, and left for, nonEuropean countries during the past Jen years:—
The figures in all three columns for 1907 were the highest ever recorded. Besides these figures 949,379 people entered the British Isles from European countries, and 835,994 left for similar countries. Both these figures constitute records, though the balance inward—113.385—is 20,000 less than it was in 1906. <s®
