Germany Fears Next British Election.
Professor I'heodore Schiemann, the most prominent exponent of German Ini pt rialUim, deplores that the signs of the times indicate the speedy fall of the Liberal Ministry in Great Britain, amt the accession to power of a Unionist < lovernnient.
'I he professor declares that the position of Mr. Asquith’s Cabinet is daily 'Becoming more insecure. After enu meriting indications* pointing to the conclusion that the days of the Liberal Ministry are numbered. Professor Schieanann naively remarks:—“The British people prefer to have Conservative leaders in times which appear to them to be critical, becau-e they attribute more energy to a Conservative than to a Liberal Cabinet. No one in Europe can
deny that the present situation is criti cal.”
‘Professor Schiemann means, of course, that the Unionists display more energy in promoting British national interests. &
