SENTENCE SERMONS.

Hearts of gold do not take gold to heart. Serving man is a good way of seeking God. Envy is the tribute that sloth pays to industry. Only the large hearted are fit to work with the little ones. The best prayers are the ones that take longest to learn. You can never fight a man’s foes unless you are his friend. If you would shine as the stars begin with a little sunshine now. Sin has no power over the life when it has no partners in the heart. Keeping faith with folks is a good way of cultivating faith in them. It’s no nse denying sin’s service when you’re enjoying its salary.

Bearing hatred is a good deal like carrying vitrol in a mighty thin flask. Nothing indicates the wise man better than the smart things he doesn’t say. Flowers of happiness never bloom long when we plant them in our own gardens.

It will take more than arguing the devil out of existence to eliminate evil from the world. It is possible to be orthodox on tho miracles and still be ignorant of the Master’s healing touch. If you are the salt of the earth you •will not bo dropping yourself on the sore places in other' folk. The drawing power of the church does not depend on the drag it has on the big pocket books of the community. There are churches where the poorest way to make heaven attractive would bo to call it the home of the eternal choirs.
