France in Morocco. Negotiations between the Sultan Mulai Hafid and the French Minister at Fez have been commenced. The Moors express satisfaction at the moderation of the French proposals. United South Africa. Dr. Jameson paid a high tribute to the disinterested attitude of ex-President Martin T. Steyn, of the Orange River Colony, at the South African Convention. He added that the coloured franchise would be safer with the Union Parliament than with the Cape Parliament. End of the Depression. The British South Africa Company confirms the trade revival after the seven lean years succeeding the war. The Company’s annual report states that a remarkable improvement in every department of trade and Industry in Rhodesia was noted during the past year.
