Dear Bee, Jan. 25, A fair number of players were on the croquet courts on Saturday, when afternoon tea was provided by Mrs. Stewart and Miss Reiehart. Amongst those present were:—Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Innes, Mrs. Paterson, Mrs. Lomax, Mrs. John Anderson, Mrs. Clay, Mrs. Imlay ; aunders, Mrs. Ale Knight (Palmerston 1 orth), Miss Jones, Miss Stewart ( Miss
Pratt, Miss Scott, Miss AV. Anderson, Miss Skeet. On Saturday at the tennis courts in Campbell-street, afternoon tea was given by Airs. McNaughton Christie and Miss AV. Christie. Amongst tho~e present were:— Airs. Gonville Saunders, Airs. Wall, Miss Wiltord. Airs. Christie, Miss D. Christie, Airs. Norris (Wellington), Mrs. Good, Aliss Cave, Aliss Anderson, Airs. Hutton, Miss Dailey, Dr. Christie, Dr. Mali, Air. Hutton, Air. G. Saunders, Mr. Good, and Air. Fletcher. During the week SEVERAL SMALL BRIDGE PARTIES have been given, one by Airs. A. Lewis, and on Monday a small one by Aliss Reiehart, when the prizes were won by Airs. Anderson and Airs. Alinto. On AA’ednesday evening Airs. Griffiths gave a bridge party; there were five tables. The prizes were won by Aliss Brewer and Airs. Riddell (Napier). Amongst those present were:—-Air. and Airs. C. Campbell, Air. and Airs. Hather]y. Dr. Hatherly, Air. and Airs. Brookfield, Air. and Airs. Greenwood, Air. and Airs. Lewis, Aliss Brewer. PERSONAL ITEAIS. Airs. Ale Knight (of Palmerston North) is the guest of Aliss Jones, in AA’anganui. Aliss G. Krull (of AA’anganui) has returned. to New Zealand after an enjoyable trip to England and Germany. Aliss Aloore (of Wanganui) has returned from her visit to friends and relatives in Canterbury. Airs, and Aliss Scott (of Gisborne) are the guests of Dr. and Airs. Innes in Wanganui. Air. and Airs. Thurlow- (of AA’anganui) left this week for Auckland and Rotorua. Airs. James AVatt (of Wanganui) has returned from her visit to Napier. The Alisses Humphrey (of Palmerston North) are the guests of Airs. Fairburn in AA’anganui. Air. and Airs. AV. Anderson (of Wanganui) left this week for a visit to their son (Mr. E. Anderson) in Kawhia. HUIA.
