Coloured Bands on Linen Frocks

A pretty fashion ‘ on the ..white linen tailored f rocks.’ for .'summer wear will be bands of coloured linen, trihimedwith white cord, and put; on in quite elaborate designs. These gowns will also be trimmed with heavy white lace and embroidery. One of the favourite colour combinations will be bands of yellow linen, embroidered in white, on gowns of white linen. Bands of pale blue linen trill,also be used on white frocks. "Some. Of these frocks will have medium-length coats in cutaway effects, with coloured bands or pipings down both sides of the front, and the skirts will have the front panels and the henls bordered to match.

Coloured embroidery will also appear on many of the muslin or batiste frocks in openwork or solid designs. Greek key patterns in silk, worked in delicate shades of pink, blue, yellow- or 'green, will'also appear on white frocks/ and thet'e is a filet banding in a deep shade of ecru with a Greek key pattern introduced in colours, - which Will be tised as

a trimming on tussore In the natural ehades. Some of the shop- are offering muslins, full of colour design, in pretty blues anti coral pinks, which will make the most delightful little summer fracks. Jt H

An eminently pretty summer toilette for girls to wear will be found sketched on this page, introducing to notice some novel notions that are not too extravagant to become sweet seventeen, who never look well nor suitably attired in what is in the least audacious. Decorated with broderie anglaise, again a very favourite mode of embellishment after a threatening of oblivion,is a white cambric frock worn with a sleeveless jacket of blue tussore belted at the back and provided with pockets at the sides. The hat repeats the note of blue, inasmuch as it is a white one massed with lobelia, and so do the shoes, and the whole effect is as pretty as it is simple.
