Dear Bee, t 5. The annual sale of work in connection ■with St. Andrew’s Church was opened on Thursday afternoon, and extended over two dlays. The weather was glorious, and consequently the. attendance large and business brisk. The plain work stall was in charge of Mesdames Roberts and Low and Miss Glendinning; fancy-work stall, Mesdames Rutherford and Gerrard, and the Misses Barry and Govan; bookstall, Mr. and Mrs. P. Carville; produce stall, Mesdames Ait-chison and McMurray; sweet stall, Mrs. Hall. On different occasions I noticed present Mrs. McHardy wearing a navy blue eoat and skirt, grey feather boa, and hat with fawn tulle and pale blue wings; Mrs. Thompson, navy blue cloth costume made with long coat, white felt hat with white feathers and scarlet berries; Miss Edith Wilson, green coat and skirt, pale blue hat, with white feathers; Mrs. Bett; cinnamon brown costume, burnt straw hat With green tulle and white ospreys; Mrs. Pegden, black frock, long fawn coat, black hat with black feathers; Miss Pegden. grey check skirt, cream blouse, cream hat with crimson roses; Mrs. Opie, grey striped Etpn coat and skirt, hat with pale blue silk and white feather; Miss Innes, grey Norfolk coat and skirt, pale green cloth collar and cuffs, white hat with white feather; •Mrs. A. Rennell, navy blue moat and skirt, black feathered hat; Miss Evans (Waipawa), black- and * white Striped coat and skirt, navy hat with blue eathers and crimson roses; Miss Glendinning, light grey Norfolk coat aiid skirt, cream hat with cream silk scarf; Miss R. Glendinning, in brown with brown floral toque; Mrs. and the Misses Gardener, Mrs. Jolly, Mrs. Vernon, Mrs Rutherford, Mrs. and Miss Astbury, Mrs. Scott and others. Miss Irene Ainsley gave A VERY SUCCESSFUL CONCERT at the Opera House on last Friday night. Lady Plunket occupied the vice-regal box, accompanied by Mrs Waterfield and Captain Gathorne-Hardy, A.D.C. Lady Plunket wore a black silk toilette and long black silk coat. Mrs Waterfield was in pale pink, with eream cloak ■ Mrs Stowe, cream silk and laee, touch of pink on corsage; Mrs J. M. Johnston, black silk, with blaek laee yoke and sequin insertion; Mrs W. H. Smith, black silk, white tulle and white flowers trimming bodice; Mrs Moore, rich yack silk taffeta, with berthe of ehiffon, embroidered in dainty colours; Mrs P. Sim. in cream, with long pale pink opera coat; Mrs W. L. Fitzherbert, cream voile, eream coat, with touches of turquoise blue; Mrs Peach, white satin Empire frock; Mrs Wallace, eream net lace, over silk; Mrs C. Louisson, primrose silk and lace; Miss McLennan, eream silk, with sequin embroidery; Mrs Park, black silk pale heliotrope flowers on corsage. Mr and Mrs Goring-Johnston,. Dr and Mrs O’Brien, Mrs F. S. Mcßae. Mrs A. D. Thompson, Miss Wilson. Mr. and Mrs A. Guy, Mrs Bendall, Mrs Rennell, Mr and Mrs A. J. Graham, Miss Vera Graham, the Misses Abraham, Mr and Mrs Danniels, Mr and Mrs C. A. Loughnan, the Misses Fraser and girls from Craven College, Mrs Adams, Mrs D. Reed, the Misses Bell, etc. A mixed foursome competition was played on the Hokowhitu links on Saturday for trophies presented by ; Mrs L. A. Abraham. The winners proved ,to be Miss Sybil Abraham and L. A. Abraham. As Mrs L. A. Abraham was the donor of the prize, the two ladies who tied for second place played off for it, Miss E. Abraham beating Miss ■ O’Brien, and so winning the trophy. The next best scores were Mrs Innes and.M. Seifert. Miss Reed and W. Strang. Mrs H. R. Waldegrave and C. Adams, Mrs H. E. Abraham, and H. G. Moore. Altogether, there were about 20 couples competing. The monthly medal competition, played on Tuesdav afternoon, was won by Mrs L. A. Abraham: Miss E. Abraham second, and Miss McLennan third. The winners of-this competition during the season were— May, Mrs Cohen; June, Mrs Louisson; July, Mrs Innes; August, Mrs Mellsop; September, Mrs Innes and Mrs Warburton (tie); October, Mrs L. A. Abraham; Mrs Innes, with two wins, holds the trophy presented bv the president, Col. Gorton. The trophy presented bv Mrs Mellsop for the best score selected from the medal day cards of the season, and known as the “Eeleetie” score, was also won by Mrs Innes, her score being 81. The Ladies’ Golf Union Modal for the. four best net scores under ' the L.G.IT. handicaps during the season, was still another win for Mrs Innes, with 338. Mrs L. A. Abraham coming second, with 339. Of the juniors, Mrs P. Sim won the medal for October. Miss Warburton second, and Mrs Fitzherbert third. ' For the season. Miss Wylde won in May. "Mrs P. Sim in June. Mrs Loughnan in Jnlv, Miss Warburton in August. Mrs Waldgrave in September, ami Mrs Sim for this month. Mrs Sim, with two wins, holds the trophy. VIOLET.
