HOCKEY.

The junior championship and ladles' championship matches were continued at Bemuera on Saturday, under Ideal weather conditions. Interest centred chiefly in the ladies’ match between Moana and Ladles’ College. The match between Y.M.C.A. and Training College also proved a big “ draw." Moana v. Ladies* College. After a highly Interesting game. Moana defeated Ladies’ College by one goal to utl. Neither side scored in the first apell, and the second spell was half way through when the only goal was scored. Miss C. Maris-Clarke finding the net from a beautiful centre by Miss L. Goodie. The victor’s forwards played a magnificent game, and but for the sterling good play of Ladles’ College goal keeper (Miss Swan) the s tores might have been very different. Misses Bennet and VVynyard in the back division, were very safe, and played good hockey. Miss Ivy Cooke also showed improved form whilst the passing of Miss L. Goudle was irreproachable. For the losers, Misses Jenkins and Schischka showed good combined work. The former repeatedly got away with the ball on her own, but her efforts were nullified through lack of support. Miss Culling played a nice game, and Misses Paton and Swan were the best of the backs. Several times the losers looked like scoring, and enthusiasm was raised to a very high pitch. Both teams were very evenly matched. Through their victory Moana secure the championship of the season with a margin of five points. Mr. If. Madden effectively controlled the game. Rawhiti v. Pitt-street. A match was played on the Domain on •Saturday between teams representing Itawhitl and Pltt-st. After a very interesting and evenly contested game the match ended in a draw, each side scoring 8 goals. For Rawhiti, Misses Probert, Muldoon, and Brophy played well, while on the Pitt-street side, Misses Halstead, Marshall, and Patrick were the most prominent. Y.M.C.A. v. Training College Y.M.C.A. met and defeated the Training College by five goals to one after a fast game. Y.M.C.A. secured their first goal soon after play began, and had the best of the game throughout. Play hung consistently round Training College goal, which was bombarded throughout both spells. For the winners goals were scored by Bagnall. •Spencer (2), Gladding and Campbell. The Training College goal was scored by T. I.orking. Y.M.C.A. thus secure the junior championship. Third Grade Championship. Y.M.C.A. and 'Varsity played off for the third grade championship. After a very hard game, Y.M.C.A. proved the winners by 5 goals to 1. Goals for Y.M.C.A. were scored by Maclean (3), Gillam and Edgeetimbe. For 'Varsity Edgley scored one goal.
