FAIRBURN—ELLIOTT. A quiet wedding wan celebrated by Rev. E. M. Cowie in Bt. Peter’s Church, Hamilton, when Mr. E. J. Fairburn, surveyor, of Hamilton, was married to Miss Maggie Elliott, daughter of Mrs. Elliott, of Anglesea-street, Hamilton. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. D. Elliott, was attended by her sister, and Mr. F. E. Fairburn acted as best man. Mrs. Bosworth played the Wedding March at the close of the ceremony. After breakfast at the residence of the bride’s mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fairburn left by the express on their honeymoon. COW AN—VICERS. A very interesting wedding was celebrated at the Catholic Church, Hastings, when Miss Lily Vickers, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Vickers, was married to Mr. dames Cowan, eldest son of Mr. James Cowan, of Hastings. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a cream cloth tailor-made costume, with satin facings and real lace vest, and she wore a large creme felt hat with massive ostrich plumes. She also carried a handsome prayer book, a present from Dean Smyth. Miss Tilly Vickers, bridesmaid, wore a creme Eton costume with pale blue floral facings and large blue silk hat with plumes to match. Mr. Jack Cowan discharged the duties of best man. The guests were subsequently entertained at the residence of the bride’s parents. RANDALL —COP ELAND. At St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Wanganui, recently, Mr. Edgar George Randall, organist of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Timaru, eldest son of Mr. George Randall, of Campbell-street, Wanganui, was married to Miss Emily Carma. second daughter of Mr. 'Thomas M. Copeland, of Wilson street. The Rev. R. M. Ryburn officiated,, and the service was fully choral. The bride was given away by her father. She wore a handsome gown of white silk, with bodice of cremona style, trimmed with silk net insertion and silk Valenciennes. She also wore a dainty veil and orange blossoms, and carried a handsome bridal bouquet. Misses Lily Copeland and Ethel Randall were the bridesmaids. They wore cream cloth costumes, with trimmings to match, and hafts of white silk, trimmed with shaded mauve" Howers. They also carried bouquets of violets, and other choice flowers. Mr. Harry Randall acted as best man, and Mr. Jack Copeland performed the duties of groomsman. Mr. A. Towsey presided at the organ. Aftei' the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s parents. BA LH ARRY MACDIARMID. A wedding of very great interest, was celebrated in St. Andrew’s Church, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, July 22nd, when Miss Elsie MacDiarmind. eider daughter of Mr and Mrs N. K. Mac Diarmid (the former manager of the Bank of New South Wales), was married to Mr Norman Balharry, of New Plymouth, and formerly of Napier. The church was charmingly decorated, the main feature being a beautiful floral bell. The service was fully choral, and, as the bridal party entered the church, the choir sang “How Welcome was the Call?” The Rev. S. R. Osborne officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of white chiffon taffetas, handsomely trimmed with embroidered chiffon and medallions. She wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. and carried an exquistie shower binquet of azaleas, snowdrops, and mai-den-hair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Meta .Mac Diarmid and Miss Phyllis Kemp wore dainty frocks of cream voile, with vest and under-sleeves of cream satin, bottle green velvet bands, outlining kimono bodice, deep band in hem of skirts, -white felt hats, trimmed with folds and rosettes of green velvet, and they carried bouquets of spring flowers and mimosa. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Donald Mac Diarmid as best man, and Mr J. C. Nicholson, as groomsman. As the bridal party was leaving the church Mr W. Perry, organist, played the “Wedding March.” After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents., Mrs Mac Diarmid wore a rich brown

L. Mac Diarmid, a very pretty costume of pale pink, blue and green, narrow striped chiffon taffetas, kimono bodice over white laee blouse, pale blue silk feathered hat, white feather boa; Mrs A. M. Mac Diarmid, rich black tucked chiffon over white glace, picture hat, with plumes; Mrs Penn, dark green tweed tailor-made costtime, white feathered hat; Mrs McKellar, black silk, bonnet relieved with pale pink roses; Miss J. McKellar, cream voile costume, kimono bodice, bound with green velvet, tuscan hat. with pale pink roses; Miss Drew, plum-coloured costume, hat relieved with a lighter shade; Mrs McHardy, violet cloth costume, braided with black silk braid, black feathered hat: Mrs Douglas, black, hat correspond; Miss Douglas, narrow green and cream striped coat and skirt, hat cn suite; Mrs S. Nolan, black silk taffetas, cream net vest and under-sleeves, cream laee shoulder scarf, pale blue hat; Mrs Glasgow, rich brown silk taffetas, cream lace vest, brown feathered bat; Mrs Blundell, pale green .striped voile, trimmed with cream lace ami insertion, pale blue hat, relieved with pink roses; Miss Webster, cream corded velvet, moss green velvet, hat finished with soft pale green feathers; Mrs Standish, black silk velvet coat, bonnet with pale pink rosebuds; Miss Saxton was much admired in white muslin overglace, with kimono bodice, outlined with cornflower blue silk, deep silk band in skirt; Mrs C. Burgess, plum-col-oured costume, trimmed with black silk braid, rich velvet hat. finished with feathers; Mrs Kerr, navy tailor-made coat and skirt, hat with shaded feathers; M s Rey. dark navy coat and skirt, faced with pale blue silk, white felt hat: Miss Penn, moss green Eton costume, faced with cream and pink floral silk, brown hat with purple and brown Trises: Miss Devenish, black silk taffetas, cream lace vest. black feathered hat; Miss Hamerten, rich purple silk taffetas blouse, trimmed with cream lace, black silk skirt, hat to correspond; Mrs Osborne, black silk, bonnet relieved with violets; Mrs Kyngdon. black doth costume, black and violet toque.
