Dear Bee, May 28. Last Thursday Mrs. Hoadley gave one of the most enjoyable of dances in the Foresters’ Hall. The ball-room was one mass of fern-trees and lovely roses. Given a splendid floor, and a capital band, it was impossible not to thoroughly enjoy oneself. The supper-table was beautifully dtecorated with pink roses and ferns. It is unnecessary to enlarge upon the

graciousness of our charming Mrs. Hoadley, and the danee went with at swing from beginning to end. Mrs. Hoadley wore a graceful soft black lace frock relieved with laee; Miss Hoadley looked charming in silver-spangled net frock, over white glace, silver belt, touches of pale blue; Miss L. Hoadley wore a picturesque palest green frock, touches of lace; Miss Nina Hoadley, chiffon frock over pink, kimono bodice revealing a net and laee vest, blue flowers on bodice and the hair; Mrs. Sinclair, soft satin frock, relieved with bands of gold embroidery; Mrs. Henley, handsome black taffeta frock, white lace bodice, trimmed with black velvet Miss Moorcroft wore a Very pretty pale blue embroidered frock; Miss Burke looked charming in a dainty pink satin frock; Miss Russell wore a flowered taffeta frock, lace panel, touches of mog# green, and violets on bodice Miss Denton, pale lavender and lace frock; Miss Snodgrass, soft muslin frock, embroidered with blue, blue belt; Miss Wood! looked well in a green taffeta Empire frock; Mis# Duff, white satin frock, band of flowered taffeta round the skirt, ana bodice trimmed with the same: Miss Kennedy wore a white satin frock relieved with gold): Miss D. Kennedy, white and black kimono frock, pink flowers on bodice and in the hair; Miss Bendall, white glace frock, daintily trimmed with pale blue; Miss Dewes wore a pretty white net frock, lace sleeves; Miss Todd, black frock, white lace on bodice; Miss Cooper, pretty white embroidered net over pink, trimmed .with pink and green embroidery; Miss Kettle wore a white chiffon frock, trimmed with white satin; Miss Simcox, lavender taffeta frock, trimmed with cream embroidery; Miss Mason, blue silk dress, diraped with white lace; Miss — Mason, white lace frock, touches of scarlet; Miss Willliams, white silk frock trimmed with gold, gold in the hair; Miss Sunderland, rose pink taffeta dress;’ Miss T. Sunderland soft yellow chiffon taffeta frock, berthe of white lace; Miss Waterhouse, white laee frock; Miss R. Waterhouse wore a soft pink silk frock, tucker of chiffon; Miss Broun, dull green taffetd frock, hodiee outlined with handsome embroidery; Miss Smith, white net and laee frock; Miss E. Smith, white muslin dress, frills, trimmed with white satin; Miss Hindmarsh wore a dainty silver net frock, hair bound wltn white satin; Missß. Hindmarsh, handsome pink frock, kimono bodice over white net; Miss Seal, Mack satin frock, bodice draped with lace, pink roses; Miss Olive Seal, white muslin frock; Miss McLean, soft white muslin frock, touches of black on bodice and in the hair; Miss Heath, becoming pale green glace frock, lace vest,

touches of moss green velvet; Miss Hamlin, all black taffeta frock, pale blue scarf; Miss Burnett, cream net frock, relieved with pink roses; Miss Rawson, rose pink taffeta frock, touches of flowered ribbon; Miss Williams, Mue ehiffon froek, touches of violet. PERSONALS. Mrs. W. Anderson, of Gisborne, is epending some weeks in Napier. Mrs. A. F. Kennedy has returned to Gisborne from a visit to Napier. Miss Williams, of Napier, is on a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Cook, of Dunedin, is spending some weeks in Napier.

Miss Miles has returned to Timaru from * visit to Napier.

Mrs. Baxter, Napier, is in Wellington for some weeks. Mrs. Balfour, of Napier, is on a visit to the Wairarapa.
