Dear Bee, May 14. We have had a great deal of enjoyment this week at the theatre, Williamson’s company playing to crowded houses on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Amongst the many pretty costumes worn, and those particularly attractive, were:—Mrs. Tombleson, handsome white silk gown, few distinguishing notes of blaek on the corsage and sleeves; Mrs. Kennedy, blaek glace, dark crimson roses; Mrs. Coleman, handsome black silk, black laee trimmings: Mrs. Glassford (Waimata), white silk: Mrs. Lysnar, cardinal silk veiled in blaek net; Mrs. Pyke, black silk, dark crimson opera coat; Miss Pyke, pale green satin, banded darker green; Mrs. W. Barker, cream silk, dainty pale blue brocaded opera coat; Mrs. A. Rees, black satin and laee: .Mrs. F. PaJairet. white silk, handsome eroam satin cloak; Mrs. Symes, pink embroidered silk; Mrs. Stephenson, pale yellow satin veiled sequin net; Mrs. Nolan, blaek silk, cream lace berthe; Miss Nolan, soft white silk dress; Mrs. R. Barton, black silk, prettily worked lace berthe; Mrs. Williams, cream satin; Miss Burke (Hawke's Bay), black silk, real lace berthe, dainty oyster satin opera coat; Mrs. F. Barker, black satin and lace; Mrs. Jex-Blake, cream satin, pale blue opera coat; Mrs. Maclean, pale grey satin, touches of pink and lace; Miss Barker, white silk; Miss E. Barker,

pale blue glace and laee trimmings; Miss Clark, pale blue silk gown; Miss Bradley, cream satin and chiffon. On Wednesday morning last Mrs. L. T. Symes gave a very enjoyable MORNING TEA to a small number of guests. The rooms were decorated with lovely roses and spring bulbs. Tea and coffee were served in the dining-room, the table being adorned with white narcissi. Mrs. Symes received her guests in a crimson and white silk blouse over a crimson skirt. Mrs. Stephenson was wearing a pale green floral voile. Amongst the guests present were:—Mrs. F. Barker in navy blue tailor-made, navy bat, white fox furs; Mrs. Sainsbury, grey tweed tailor-made, hat en suite; Mrs. Seymour, navy blue costume, black hat; Miss Boulnois (Christchurch), navy blue costume, cream hat with navy trimmings; Mrs. Burke, cream serge, cream hat bound in pale blue velvet, wreath of forget-me-nots round the crown; Miss Burke (Hawke’s Bay), blue cambric, becoming straw hat trimmed with loops of green and blue ribbon; Mrs. Jex-Blake, stylish long coat of navy blue over blue skirt, the whole strapped with pompadour silk, hat to match; Mrs. Smith, fawn and brown costume, brown and cream hat; Miss Bradley, navy blue costume, dark hat with looping of navy silk; Mrs. Parker, dark green coat and skirt, brown hat with quills; Mrs. Jeffrey. grey tweed, chiffon hat of dark blue, wreathed with roses: Mrs. SheYratt, prune coloured coat ’ and skirt, heliotrope floral hat. PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS. Dr. Scott (Gisborne) returned by the Moana from Auckland on Wednesday. Mrs. Scott accompanied him on his Northern visit. The Revs. Asher, Whyte and Ramsay are at present in Gisborne. Mr. W. Seymour and his sister, Miss N. Seymour (Gisborne) are spending the winter in Sydney. Mr. F. Parker (Gisborne) has returned from Wellington. Mr. J. W. Nolan (Gisborne) has gone to Auckland and Rotorua. Mr. J. W. Bright left for Napier on Sunday last to attend a conference of New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.’s managers held there. Mrs. Stevenson (Auckland) returned North on Saturday. Mrs. Lippett (America), who has been visiting Mrs. Lysnar (Gisborne), leaves for her home on Saturday next, proceeding North by the s.s. Wimmera. Dr. de Lisle is at present visiting Gisborne. Mr. Kingcome, who has been visiting friends in Gisborne, left for the South last Wednesday. Capt. Reany (Napier) is at present

visiting Gisborne.
