Dear Bee, April 16. AN AT HOME was given on Saturday by Mrs. Charles Louisson at her residence in Gloucesterstreet. The weather was perfect for a garden party, and a most delightful afternoon was spent. An entertainment was given by the London Pierrots on the lawn, another attractive item for the young people was a palmist and fortuneteller, who held her court in one of the side-rooms. Mrs. Louisson wore a lovely gown of plum coloured chiffon taffeta, with yoke and sleeves of Irish guipure lace, a large black and white hat of net and feathers; Miss Louisson wore a white chiffon taffeta skirt, with a lace blouse, large white plumed hat lined with dark green; Mrs. Cohn (Dunedin) pale blue figured taffeta and blue picture hat. Amongst the guests were Mrs. Denniston in a black cashmere dress trimmed with luce, black toque; Miss Denniston a stylish costume of dark green cloth braided with black, green and gold hat; Mrs. Borthwick, tailor-made gown of pale grey cloth, grey and pink toque; Mrs. W. Wood, grey cheek costume, black toque; Miss B. Wood, white cloth coat and skirt, while hat; Mrs. Kettle, dark grey tweed costume, blue velvet lull with plume of coque feathers; Miss Kettle, coat and skirt of navy blue serge, black and while hat; Miss C. Kettle, Eton costume of green tweed, with black hat ; Mrs. Bieker, ton Fisher, coat and skirt of dark blue cloth, large nattier blue hat; Miss Fisher,
costume of white cloth with white hat; Miss D. Fisher, pale blue coat and skirt, large picture liat; Mrs. Hayman, gown of white taffeta with touches of pale blue, picture hat of blue to match; Miss Marks, a pale blue costume, large white hat lined with pale petunia silk; Mrs. T. Cowlishaw, costume of grey cloth faced with pale pink; hat with shaded grapes; Mrs. P. Wood, a brown coat and skirt, brown hat to match; Mrs. Molineaux, pale grey costume, blue and white hat; Miss Molineaux, a blue dress with blue and white hat; Mrs. Nancarrow, black taffeta dress, large black hat; Mrs. G. Merton, navy blue silk, black hat with white osprey; Miss Merton, brown voile with cream lace, blue and brown hat; Miss G. Merton, white muslin frock, hat with blue cornflowers; Mrs. Beals, dark blue cloth costume, black and white hat; Mrs. J. Williams, dress of sage green
taffeta, green hat; Mrs. J.-D. Hall, grey and. white striped tweed costume, black and white toque; Mrs. Westeura, brown tweed coat and skirt, hat to match; Mrs. Quane. reseda green taffeta, green hat of a darker shade; Mrs. J. C. Palmer, dark blue coat and skirt, large cerise hat with shaded roses; Mrs. Vernon, costume of black cloth relieved with cream lace, blaek hat. Others present were Mesdames Graham, Bennett, Appleby, Allan, Russell, Wanklyn, Harris and Waymouth, Misses Wilson, Symes, Campbell, Russell, Humphreys (2) Secretan, McGlatchie, Berkeley, Mathias and Anderson. GOLF. The Shirley Links are this week the scene of great activity, owing to the Easter tournament being played there.
