Unless there is a substantial change for the better in the next two months, the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s bal-ance-sheet will (says the latest London “Express”) make a poor showing at the end of the financial year. According to the figures published in the “London Gazette,” there has been a falling-off in the national revenue so far, as compared with the same period last year, of £1,587,384.
