THE HON. G. FOWLDS ON THE EAST COAST.
This is probably the finest meeting house in the Dominion, ami is finished throughout in Maori fashion. It u»ed to belong to Major Ropata. who was a famous warrior on the side of the Europeans during the Maori war. Ropata's body lies at rest on the top of the hill on the left of the photograph.
