Dear Bee, March 6. On Tuesday last Mrs. Dewes entertained a few friends to say FAREWELL TO MRS. EDGAR, who leaves for England next week. Mrs. Dewes wore a blaek silk frock with lace yoke and collar; Miss Dewes, white embroidered muslin dress, blue picture hat; Mrs. Bowen also wore a pretty white muslin and laee dress, large black plumed hat; Mrs. Henley looked well in a handsome brown taffeta frock, trimmed with net and tassels, brown picture hat; Mrs. Claud Cato, cream pleated cloth skirt, cream silk blouse, becoming blaek hat; Mrs. W. Cato, dainty pale blue muslin dress, kimono bodice, outlined with blue, large bine and green picture hat; Mrs. Hamlin, smart black and white striped muslin dress, white lace vest, black and violet hat; Mrs. Kennedy, dainty pale grey and white striped freak with white net and blink velvet, pink and blaek picture hat; Mrs. Levin, crenm cloth frock, long brown kimono jacket trimmed

Locking wore a charming frock of old rose silk taffeta trimmed with crimson velvet, large picture hat triinmed with pink and crimson roses and lloral ribbons; Miss Chambers, olive green voile frock, cream lace vest and collar; Miss Macfarlane wore a dainty lavender frock trimmed with cream and net and lavender lace scarf, white lace hat; Miss J. Macfarlane, navy blue and white striped taffeta froek, white picture hat; Miss —. Macfarlane, white muslin dress, fichu trimmed with lace, becoming Gobelin blue feathered hat; Mrs. Russell wore a pale grey muslin frock trimmed with grey satin, becoming blaek and pink picture hat; Miss Brabant, pink and white frock with touches of pink, mushroom hat with wreath of pink and red roses; Miss Snodgrass, dainty white muslin brock, bodice trimmed with white embroidery, smart blue feathered hat; Miss Kennedy, pale pink muslin frock, white featnered stole, pink floral hat; Mrs. Bernau, white and pink floral muslin dress, large white hat trimmed with pink roses; Mrs. Sprule, cream cloth frock, white stole, white net hat with touches of lavender; Miss Hoadley, brown muslin frock, kimono bodice outlined with brown silk, touches of pale blue, blue and brown hat; Miss Rutledge, cream spotted muslin dress, floral sash, cream hat trimmed with roses; Miss Twigg, pale blue muslin froek trimmed with sapphire velvet, pretty hat trimmed with daisies; Miss Clark, pale pink and white muslin dress, grey chiffon hat trimmed with pink roses. SOME PURELY PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs. Edgar, accompanied by her sisters (the Misses Hitehings) leaves Napier next week for England. The Misses Williams, of Napier, are spending a few weeks in Taupo. Dr. and Mrs. Ronald, who are also absent at Taupo, return to Napier in a few weeks. Miss Chambers has returned to her home in Hawke’s Bay, after spending two years in London. Miss Muriel Locking is leaving Napier shortly for London, where she intends spending a year or two. Miss Morecroft has returned to Napier from a visit to Rotorua. Miss Twigg, of Petane, is back after her visit to Taupo. Miss Jameson, of Wellington, is on a visit to Napier. Rev. C. Dallaston and family, of Napier, are on a visit to Dunedin. Bishop Williams left Napier last week en route for England, to attend the Lambeth Conference. Mrs. Chris McLean, of Napier, is spending a month in Wanganui. News was received last week that Miss Holdis, of Napier, has reached Cairo in good health, and intends remaining there some time before going on to England. Dr. Eric Caro has returned to Napier from a month’s trip to the South. Mrs. and Miss Oakden have returned to Napier after having spent the summer mouths in DuneiFm.
