Lovely Lace Frocks.

The gown on the left is of gauze with cloth, tulle, and silken broideries in different and perfectly harmonising shades of brown, the lovely tints of a wallflower which brighten to gold here and there. There is a plumed hat to match. Our other sketch is a lace gown, where the coat is fashioned of chiffon taffeta, which blends together the loveliest shades of gold, apricot, and cinnamon,

while all its graceful outlines are accentuated by an Empire design broidered in gold, while countless bees are wrought in gold on its silken surface. A flowerlike rosette catches it together in front. There is just a delicate tracery of gold, while other gleams of gold come from the lace and tassels of the undersleeves, and on the trailing skirt, which adorn the festooned flounces. Add to all this a most piquantly-shaped hat of black panne, with two uncurled ostrich leathers to repeat the colouring of the silk.

This gown of ecru lace, with bands of golden lace as fine as a cobweb, to curve their gleaming way on both bodice and skirt, the tassels which are so much in favour with Dame Fashion being also in effective evidence as a finish for bows of the gold lace. The picture hat has a mushroom brim of deep-toned Leghorn, and a full crown of gold net, caught in with a double box-pleating of black tulle, and a twist of Nattier blue satin ribbon, looped into a bow at the left side, where two blue ostrich feathers curve outwards and a couple of pale pink roses. And there is a long scarf of black net narrowly bordered with that beautiful blue, and at each end.
