Deal' Bce ; September 20. Last Thursday Miss Dorothy Christie, of St. John’s Hill, gave A FAREWELL PARTY IN HONOUUR -OF MISS BLUNDELL, who is leaving this week for Nelson. During the afternoon great fun was caused by the guests trying to put the oye in a pig pinned on the wall, Miss Brettargh proved the victor, and won a beautiful silver button hook and shoe horn. Amongst those present were Misses Christie (2), Jackson, Blundell, I. Stevenson, E. Brettargh, W. Anderson, G. Allison, M. Harrison, L. Harper, L. McFarlane, W. Humphreys, Q. Nixon, D. Brettargh. This week several farewell BRIDGE PARTIES have been given to Mrs. Blundell, one by Mrs. Griffiths, on Friday afternoon, when the Ist prize, a book, was won by Mrs. Pharazyn. Amongst those present were Mesdames Barnicoat, Wall, Griffiths,Gordon, Newcombe, Blundell, Pharazyn, Hughes, Johnston, Dodgshun, Miss Reichart. Another on Friday evening at Mrs. John Anderson’s, when Mrs. John Watt won the Ist, a bridge box, and the booby, a picture, fell to Mrs. Dodgshun. Amongst the players were Mesdames Stevenson, Blundell, Dodgshun, John Watt, Misses Brewer, Reichart. On Friday afternoon a' number of children held A MOST SUCCESSFUL JUVENILE BAZAAR in aid of the Ministering Childrens League in a large room kindly lent by Mrs? Holm Biss. Amongst those present were Mrs. Ward, in a navy blue coat and skirt, cream straw hat with wreath of pink roses and foliage; Mrs. Sarjeant, heather mixture tweed costume with Eten coat edged with dark crimson Merton cloth and tiny silk buttons to match, cream vest, smart hat with crimson flowers and long osprey at the side; Mrs. O. Lewis, navy blue cloth gown with navy velvet folded belt and revers of floral silk, becoming coarse navy straw hat with wreath of dull blue shaded roses and foliage; Miss Wilford, navy blue hopsack, three-quarter coat and skirt, black velvet hat with large green rose and foliage and black ostrich plumes; Mrs. D’Arcy, green Melton coat and skirt, stone marten stole, green chenille hat with shaded flowers and osprey; Mrs. P. Lewis, heather mixture tweed three-quarter coat and skirt, cream vest, cream felt bat with green

and heliotrope shaded roses and velvet; Mrs. A. Lewis, navy blue Melton coat and skirt, cream vest, crimson straw hat swathed in tulle to match, and long waving osprey at the side; Mrs. Rocbfort (Eltham), smart tweed coat ami skirt, green straw hat with ribbon and quills; Mrs. Riddell (Napier), navy blue sac coat ami skirt, cream vest, pretty cream hat with chiffon and cream ostrich feathers; Mrs. Izett. navy blue costume. fancy straw hat with ribbons ami flowers; Airs.
