Loughnan at Avonside on Thursday evening. The players were: —Mr L. and Mrs Nanfarrow, Mrs Michael Campbell, Miss Campbell, Mr and Mrs W. Day, Miss Cook, Miss Cuthbert. Mr Ollivier. the Misses Nedwill, Mr Barnett, Mr Fryer, and Dr. Macdonald. At A BRIDGE PARTY. given at Fendalton by Mrs George Gerard, amongst the guests were: —Mr and Mrs J. Bond, Mr and Miss Neave, the Misses Prins, Mrs Murray-Aynsley, Miss Deans, Mr and Miss Hamilton, Captain Malet, and the Misses Gerard. A CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS DANCE. which took place at the Sumner schoolroom, was a great success. Shand; Fairy Tale. E. England. GOLF. At the Shirley links the Yankee tournament for the first grade is almost at an end. Miss Rita C. Wilson (scratch) and Miss Rutherford, who receives a small handicap, meet in the final, which should be a keen and interesting match. A Bogey Match was played last Wednesday, when Mrs Leonard was the prize giver ami hostess of the day. In the first grade Miss Wilson and Miss Harley drew for first place, the second giade match being won by Miss C. Kettle, with Miss Hclmore second. AN AFTERNOON TEA was given at Fendalton on Friday by Mrs Waymouth. A large number of guests were present, including Mrs Walter Thomas, Mrs Thacker, Mrs Mickle, Mrs Stephenson, Mrs Croxton. Mrs Price, Miss Wilson, Mrs Russell, Mrs Appleby. Mrs and Mis< Guthrie. Mrs De Vries. Mrs and Miss MeredithKaye, Mrs Tyree, Mrs Carey-Hill, Mrs Irving.
